In the presence of a juncture of changes and recurrent instability, a leader requires essential notions for an adequate management of themselves and their surroundings. It's important to understand that before being a leader, they are human beings, that suffer and undergo different destabilization cycles in their personal roles, and sometimes they demand too much from themselves when they haven't recovered their personal stability or balance.

Three necessary aspects to face personal consolidation in the face of the crisis:

Emotional adjustment, recognizing its challenges in the face of the emotional intelligence needed right now.

Positive personal arbitration, solving self-prejudice matters in a constructive way, fostering self-confidence and learning from unwanted or unexpected experiences.

Radical optimism, nourishing a frame of mind that adopts effective responses to existing obstacles.

When they consciously regain that balance, they find themselves better prepared to achieve successful results managing their relational environment. After understanding your own hardships to overcome, you will be able to show the key faculty of empathy, helping in a genuine manner to manage the crisis with which you form a team.

Doing this means detecting those moments in which something doesn't go well for each person and for the team. Dedicating to inquire more and assume less, completely inhibiting presumptions and creating a shared sense of understanding about things.

Is being empathetic enough to stimulate those we lead? It is a huge door towards aligning concerns, achieving awareness, influencing from every personal reality, and generating a connection to higher levels of compromise, however it is not enough.

The conscious leader adds other attributes:

  • The development of powerful conversations to make things happen.
  • Harnessing the talents present in each team member.
  • Integration of dissimilar perspectives to create more powerful and inclusive projects.
  • Frequent reception of feedback, strengthening resilience and the joy of learning.

Connect with inclusive purposes and visions, where everyone feels represented, generating a sense of compromise and gratitude. Show behaviors associated to the individual, creating realities in the organization where they operate. Organizations, through their culture, must provide a system of coexistence that pushes said purpose and sustains it in spite of adversity.

Never before has it been so important to feel you are part of something, and each leader must feel it and make others feel it, too. Your conscious leadership will make the difference in each person, in the organization and in society, we invite you to assume this leading role that's necessary for the world we need!
